First day...need tips/advice

My son acts very ready to PT, so we started today since I can stay home the next few days with him. 

When he's in underwear, he begins to pee a little and then tells me he needs to go.  The underwear are soaked enough that we have to change them.  I went through six pairs today before I said forget it...and let him stay naked for the rest of the afternoon.

When he's naked, he goes to the potty on his own and does his business with no issue.  The minute the underwear go back on, he's reverting back to diaper days.  After a few hours of being naked, I tried underwear again, and he pooped in them. Huh?

I'm not frustrated yet since it's only the first day, just wanting to see others' experiences and make sure I'm doing everything I can to be supportive toward him. 

Since he can't go naked everywhere, any suggestions? Or is it simply a try, try again situation?

    Liv did better  naked too. They say to put the underwear on so they could get use to it but I say do what works for you. Liv would take her underwear off lol
