Fighting over nuetral "theme"

Last nights shopping trip was pretty fun.. Buut it turned out to be a big ol' problem in the middle of sears. I LOVE monkey stuff ( Tangerine green and chocolate brown with a lighter tan).. DH said it was too boyish, he wanted the boring old yellow/brown/white..! Soo we had to meet half way.

We decided Winnie the Pooh nuetral everything. O_O I know that is sooo over done, but in the end, we found all matching items including the travel system, play yard, blankets, car seat.. etc. My mom seems to think it was overkill theme wise but oh well. I did grab the yellow ducky (brown, white, yellow) outfit for my husbands sake though. I never did get my green monkey outfit that I wanted. But I am happy because we are officially baby ready!

Re: Fighting over nuetral "theme"

  • We chose safari bedding with some jungle animal accents for the nursery (monkey trashcan, wallplate, etc).  With the larger gear, we went green/brown on the colors.  Other stuff was mixed themes like under the sea swing since this would be in a different room.

  • Which Winnie the Pooh set did you go with? Our nursery is a the nuetral one from BRU that is Soft and Fuzzy Winnie the Pooh.

We knew we were having a girl, but If we have 2 LO fairly close together, I'd like to be able to reuse as much as possible.

Regardless, the room is absolutely adorable!

  • We got the travel system, bouncer, and play yard in ambrosia, then we got the 4 piece nuetral bedding set and matching recieving blankets at sears. I had to order the hi-pile plush blanket online because it wasn't in stock at the store. We are ordering the ambrosia swing from the disney store. We even got an awesome winnie the pooh nuetral gift set, complete with booties, onsie and hat at kmart. The rest of the clothes are either winnie the pooh, or just plain colors( except for the ducky outfit. ) I am going to go to the craft store sometime this week and see if I can find some nice wall decor, and decorations that match.  I will take pics once everything is put together!

  • Congrats on finishing!

I would have been pissed if my DH had said that monkeys were too boyish. Sorry you didn't get your first choice, but I think that winnie the pooh is extremely adorable, so I guess it's a win-win.

Here is what we did. All you need is shadow boxes, winnie the pooh scrap book paper, and wooden letters and wooden shapes that reflect the letter. Wal-mart also have some neat stuff too. That is where the hand and foot thing is from. BRU is where I got the soft wall art for above the crib.

  • The shadow boxes were super easy. Just need a glue gun and some paint. I was going to with wall decals but would have preferred the bigger ones.
