A friend of a friend posted on FB that instead of regular bumpers, she took swimming pool noodles and cut them to fit the crib and placed them under the fitted sheet. I had never heard of this, and was wondering if any of you had, or have done it yourself.... just wondering.
Re: Bumper alternative; what do u think?
Sounds like someone has too much time on their hands if you ask me.
And like PP said...breathable bumper or nothing at all.

Something about that doesn't quite seem right... or safe for that matter. You really don't need a crib bumper until the baby starts sticking hands and feet out of the side of the crib, rolling over, and getting "stuck".
I've only heard of using pool noodles to help elevate/even out convertible car seats when installing. Otherwise I'd be afraid the kid would start taking bites out of it.
Was she trying to mimic this: (a cheap version maybe).

This. That whole pool noodle thing sounds ridiculous. But I think bumpers in general are unneccesary. Even breathable ones.
