First doppler frustration

Tonight was my first time not being able to find the HB after getting it last week for the first time. Since then I've had no trouble finding it a couple other times. I've tried 3 times tonight and no luck. Not really freaked out...just frustrated. I'm pretty sure I could hear fetal movement though (sounded much different from my bloodflow - can you hear movement w/ a doppler this early??). Now I'm out of gel...Missing the days when I had access to a fancy doppler and gallons of gel at work.

    Sorry that your LO wasn't be cooperative tonight. I've used both aloe vera gel or KY with my doppler.

    I'm out of everything clear and gel-like...so I just committed doppler sacrilege and used Jergen's...just this once! I bribed the baby with homemade flan and he/she cooperated, finally! Heart is still ticking away so baby gets a doppler reprieve for a while until I get some gel/aloe/KY.

    Yay! Glad to hear you finally found the HB. I'm on the fence about getting a doppler after my NT scan. I'm afraid of this very situation. I don't think i could remain as calm as you did, though. I would lose me everloving sh*t.
