if it's pronounced the same way my friends pronounce their little boys name (spelled the same way) it's like Collin but with the Ca as in "cast" followed by lyn. if you're pronouncing it as "kay lynn" I think it sounds too feminine because it would be shorted to kay...

I like it if its pronounced kay-lynn, but I'm not a big fan of Kal-lynn.
Opposite or me. Kay-lynn is a girl's name; Kal-lynn isn't. I don't love it, but I don't hate it.
I really like Callum, which is similar.
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind."

I really like it! It is one of our 2 names that we still have not decided on. It is more popular in Australia, the meaning is "brave in battle". DH and I like the meaning because we're both combat vets. We really could not agree on anything, this was one on both of our lists.....although we do watch NCIS LA and we do like the character with the last name "Callen" (pronounced the same)

Sorry peeps, didn't get back on until this AM. For those askign how to pronounce it, it's Cal-In (like Allen with a C). I have never watched NCIS, so I had no idea there was someone with that name on there!
As pp said, it sounds made up. But I know a handsome Scotsman named Callum that I think is a real name. I also went to school with a Kellum but that was kind of offbeat too. Plus, your babe will presumably be growing up American. I guess I don't like it. Just my 2 cents!
It's cute, but too easily confused with the girls name Kaylynn.
My name is Chelsea and teachers used to pronounce it wrong all the time in school (Chel-see-ah) and it really bothered me. I think it would be worse when they not only pronounce it wrong, they pronounce it like a girl's name.
Re: thoughts on this boy's name...
Sounds made up. What about Calvin (nn. Cal)?
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

Okay, so like Alan with a hard C at the beginning?
(I have a friend whose LO's name is Tallan, so it's very similar.)
Not my style, but maybe spell it with one L?

If I have to ask this, I'm usually not a fan and in this case, this holds true.
