Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Has anyone NOT had

To lower their crib mattress yet? DD2 is still at the same height she was when she was a newborn. I haven't lowered it, yet. I know I will have to soon, once she starts crawling, which will be any day now.

  • We just lowered ours yesterday, and DD's 6 1/2 mos.

  • We did about 3 weeks ago when I found her sitting up after her nap.  Once she figured out how to sit up on her own we had to because she was trying to pull herself up to standing.  Tonight she was successful at pulling herself to stand, so thank goodness we did lower it!  I would lower it now if I were you...they seem to figure out the new things in their cribs!

  • I've had to lower ours to the lowest setting possible because DS hangs on the edge of the crib and jumps! I was afraid he was going to bounce himself right out of it!

  • Ok, so I'm not the only one, good. Thanks!

  • Have not lowered ours yet.
  • We didn't do it until DS was 7.5 months. No need to until then.

  • Nope, E doesn't even get herself up into a sitting position on her own yet.

  • Mine is now on the lowest setting.  DD can crawl and pull to a standing position.  DD1 was an escape artist and got out of her crib at 14 months, so we had to convert to toddler setting real early.  I'm hoping that doesn't happen again!
  • not us either. DS cant sit up by himself yet, let alone pull himself up.

  • Just did yesterday and my baby is nearly 8 months. Our crib was pretty low anyway (and my baby is short) and she just started sitting herself up a week ago.
  • Haven't lowered ours yet. We won't do that until she can pull up.

And then it'll probably be time to put the rail pads on, so she can't chew on them! My DD1 got a few nights of gnawing in before we noticed.

  • We haven't yet but we probably will soon. LO can pull himself to a standing position if he is holding our hands - but he hasn't tried doing it on his own yet. I don't want the first time to be in his crib. Our crib is pretty low anyway on the highest setting so.
