Just wondering if anyone else is buying a few things here and there or mostly preemie. I know I won't know how early they will be, but just curious if you're planning for preemie or planning for "normal" and will buy preemie stuff as needed.
Well I am hoping those little ones stay in there for a lot longer! I'm feeling good. Still lots of first tri symptoms which I actually love having because they keep me calm that things are happening while I wait in between u/s. 10 weeks today!

all of the preemie clothes I have seen are for babies 5 pounds and under, and I've heard from a lot of the ladies on Multiples that the preemie clothes weren't useful. They did encourage "newborn" clothes though, so we got a handful of newborn items that we'll use and then transition to 0-3 month from there.
My mom thought for sure we would have preemies so went shopping for preemie clothes. We have about 4-5 outfits for each one. I think I bought another 2 sleepers on clearance. The projected growth of twin B should be about 7lbs but Twin A will be in the preemie clothing range. I figure if I need more then I can do a quick shopping trip or my best friend will take care of it for me. I trust her clothing selections!

I have some preemie clothes but don't plan to wash them or take the tags off until they are born and I know if they can use them (I assume mine will be able to wear them at least for a few weeks but who knows).

I don't have any preemie outfits. I am going to wait because I've heard a lot of MoMs say that often by the time they're home they can wear newborn sizes. If needed, dh or I can always p/u a few outfits once they're coming home.

I didn't get any preemie stuff because I really don't know how big they will be and hopefully I'll make it to 38 weeks and they will be a good size. If I need preemie stuff my mom said she would go out while I was in the hospital to pick some stuff up but I know the preemie stuff doesn't last long. I did get newborn stuff.

When I delivered at 36w3d, my boys weighed 7lb 7oz and 7lb 4oz, so we did not need any preemie stuff. However, I know this is not typical.
We received a few preemie outfits at a shower. Our 35 week growth u/s estimated the boys to weigh 6lb 5 oz and 6lb 1oz, so we figured we'd take the clothes back since preemie outfits only go up to 5lbs.
They are wearing newborn stuff though, so I would definitely stock up on a lot of those outfits.
I went to 36w1d, and my boys were 5lbs 9 oz and 4 lbs 7 oz. They wore preemie stuff for the first week or so-- they had two preemie outfits each, and about 4 preemie pajamas each (Carter's). We also put them in the Gerber 0-3 onesies, which fit very loosely.
I guess you never know when they'll come, really... I just knew mine would be small (from growth ultrasounds) so wanted a few outfits on hand. But don't get many-- we did laundry every other day those first few weeks so they just wore the same outfits over and over. It is not worth the money to get more than a few things because they grow so fast into the newborn size.

We didn't need any premmie stuff - but we did go thru a lot of "newborn" outfits. My boys were born at 6lbs each.
Alex was on the small side (lost 1/2 between birth and discharge), so he wore Gerbers newborn for a long time (those are TINY).
When we got home, we also realized Alex was leaking out of his NB diapers, so we put him in Premmies for a few weeks. He fattened up in no time!
