Very TMI (Anyone else?)

This is a bit embarrassing, so much so that I doubt I'll mention it at my 6 week PP visit. Here we go..

Does anyone else have a sore feeling in their clitoris since giving birth? I dilated very fast and only pushed for 10minutes so I thought maybe it had to do with the very fast stretching during birth. It was VERY sore the first week, especially when going from a sitting to standing position. It still is a bit sore but definitely better.

Does ANYONE else have this, or am I totally weird and should mention it to the Dr.?

  • Nope, but if it's still sore you should definitely mention it at your appt.  I'm sure they've heard more embarrassing stuff than that.

  • Did you have any stitches put in near there? I did (no fun at all), and had some soreness due to that.

If not, I'd mention it to the doc.

  • I don't have it, but I think you should mention it to the doc. I bet he's heard of it before and doesn't even bat an eye at something like that so there's no reason to be ashamed.

Nope, I didn't tear so no stitches.

I guess I'll suck it up and ask

  • Don't be embarrassed. I had this for three weeks after giving birth. Weird to describe but every time I stood up I felt pressure in my clitoris. I think it COULD have been the stitches near there but I also have a feeling that it was pressure like fluid?

  • LOL you are braver than I am!  I had a weird sensation in my clitoris for a few weeks after giving birth. I didn't know what it was and chickened out asking my Dr. Eventually it went away...so I would assume you'll be fine in time!

  • I've noticed that everything down there is a bit more sensitive (hence better sex for me!) but hurting? Not at all.

  • I do have this and had a pretty quick dilation/stretching. I'm definitely going to ask about this at my PP appt because it scares me sometimes.

It's not a constant soreness it's just every once in while, it almost feels like it's swollen.
  • I have this also, and I also had a very quick dilation and only 3 pushes to get LO out... however my pain feels a little more like its "behind" my clitoris some times... so I was thinking it had something to do with the pubic bone - but I was going to ask at my 6 week visit.
  • i had this exact feeling, especially when standing.  It has gone away, but i never asked my dr.
  • Me too!! I was confused as to why it was happening as well. I haven't been in for a pp check yet. And I also had quick dilation and delivery, stiches also but not in that area.  But yeah, maybe from being stretched during delivery?
