2 months doesnt sound like a long time but considering I wasn't planning on BF at all, I think we did pretty well!
I would continue but DS just isn't satisfied on BM and we supplemented from day one. We were using powered formula but he still never seemed satisfied and would eat every 1.5 hours! 20 minutes of breast then 3 oz of formula and looking for more in an hour. Not fun! We made a switch to the liquid due to the recall and he sleeps like a champ and is much happier during waking times. He was mostly weaned during the day and now he is had his first STTN on the liquid.
Very bittersweet for me. I am happy that we found something that works for DS but I will miss the BFing a little.
Re: well, thats it for BFing
I don't know you, so don't take this personally. But I can't help but think that threads like this are a way for moms who give up BF'ing to justify it to themselves.
Obviously I'm not talking about moms who physically can't do it anymore, but rather those who just give up.
Some BM is absolutely better than none.

so what if it is??? it is too early for this crap.
It just seems silly to me to need the approval of internet strangers. If you choose to stop BF'ing, go for it. Embrace your decision.

Seriously? Why does it matter to you how OP feeds her child? The decision to wean is emotionally complicated. I can completely understand why OP would want to post it. I'm quite sure that OP would object to some of the parenting decisions you've made or will make and will post about. Parenting is hard enough as it is without comments like this. Get off your soap box please.
OP, good for you for making the decision that makes the most sense to keep you, your child & your family happy & healthy.
That's exactly my point though. No one cares if you decide to stop BF'ing. If your kid is still being fed, good. Do what you have to do.
And that's also why I don't post about my parenting decisions. Because they're MY decisions and I don't need approval from people I don't know.

I can't even being to put into words how much this ignorant comment pisses me off.
Well said; my sentiments exactly.
Apparently, to stroke her ego because she is obviously the better parent *gag*
Glad you are making the right decision for you and your family :-)
I wonder what the difference between powder formula and rtf or concentrates is, and why some babies seem fuller longer with the liquids.
If you are not ready to complete give up you can talk to a lactation consultant - but hey, you might have already done that!
My friend was having the same issue and she was told she was not feeding her DD long enough.
Anyhow, either way, good luck and absoultely, making your LO happy is numero uno.
Oh criminey- didn't see that coming.
OP, sorry this thread even went there.
I just wanted to post a congratulations to you for nursing 2 months that you hadn't even planned to nurse! That's a wonderful thing to have done and I hope you feel very proud about this accomplishment and have lots of wonderful memories of this time! Good for you! (and don't pay her any heed)
