Last night while in bed I stretched and I got the WORST calf cramp ever!! I woke up and moaned in pain a bit (freaked DH out, whoops!) When I woke up this morning it was hurting so bad that I was limping. Does this happen to anyone else?
yep! just part of being pregnant. When you feel it starting, try to flex your foot upwards (don't point your toes!). that usually helps me. If they are really bad, I wake DH up and make him rub it out for me. They can be painful afterwards if they are bad.
Yup, I get them every night...usually 1 or 2. They wake me up out of a dead sleep and last right around a minute. I mentioned them to my dr. and he said to add extra calcium to my diet and recommended eating tums because they are so high in calcium. I would honestly do anything at this point because they still hurt the next day.
I also noticed that they usually happen after pointing my toes or stretching while sleeping, obviously, not something we can control.

?
I get them all the time too. My remedy is to get my butt out of bed and walk putting most of my weight on the leg that is cramped up. Works every time!
yeah i get that all the time. if you stretch your legs and they start to hurt [its usually when you point them] then just flex them back [ like your pulling your toes towards you] and it'll stop the cramp.. just drink lots of water and maybe eat a banana for some potassium because that helps with leg cramps too. Usually it's a sign of dehydration.
Sometimes it's okay to follow. (Picture is a clicky)
I get them quite frequently too and stretch them out like others have suggested. I talked to my OB and he told me to take a calcium pill and a magnesium pill and I should start to see a difference.
I was also told I could take tums and then the magnesium as well, since the tums has the calcium that I need.
