What's your favorite item to purchase (or receive) for baby showers?

    I will always purchase either from the registry or give a gift card. I don't really have a go-to item.

    The best thing we received was gift cards (aside from the big-ticket registry items). Seems like everything else was fug clothing or stuff we didn't need or ask for.

    I really liked receiving the boring lame stuff, like the wipes warmer or the infant bathtub.  No one wants to get you that stuff, they all want to buy you cute clothes.  But I want to buy cute clothes myself! :)

    I love anything monogrammed.  DD got a really cute jewelry box with her name on it and a personalized piggy bank. This was a really cool gift I got (framed and all) after DD was born:

    I also like to do personalized things. I like personalcreations.com for that kind of stuff.

    Other than that, I tend to buy off of the registry. I buy things that I know they will definitely use. 

    I had a ton of stuff from my shower that I never used b/c people did not look at the registry to see what the theme in the nursery was or they just did not buy off of the registry. Also, I got doubles of some things b/c people did look at the registry. I just find is senseless to buy stuff people will never want, need, or use. I would rather buy off of a registry b/c I at least know it was something they wanted.

    I've been buying picky stickys and a pack of white onesies and then something off the registry (hopefully something that I loved having for LO).

    This. I got a ton of homemade blankets that I appreciate the though but really how many blankets can you use. Plus a ton if clothes.
