Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Would this be completely insane?

My mom bought DH and I tickets to go to the Farm Aid concert with her and my dad next week. It starts at like, noon, and will end pretty late I'm sure. I had hope MIL would babysit, but as luck would have it... she's going too. Finding a babysitter for that long is proving challenging, and I am also thinking about how many times I will have to pump with my stupid manual pump during that time. So would it be totally nutso to bring DD with us? The concert is in the baseball stadium so it's not like we'd be super close but I'd still get her ear protection of some kind, and I'd just carry her in the Bjorn where she has no problem falling asleep. This is assuming they would even let her in. I don't know... part of me thinks it might be fun for her and part of me thinks it's just insane-o to even think about it....

  • I don' think it's insane but I'd be prepared to leave early in case DD decides she's had enough.  So definitely take your own car to the concert.

  • OMG I hadn't even thought about that. We're not taking a car at all because parking is $25 (which IS insane-o). Maybe that alone makes it a non-starter...

  • $25 for parking?!  Holy crap.  Do you have a friend who could be on standby to give you a ride just in case?
  • Holy Cow!!! $25 for parking is insane!!!

  • It can get a little loud if the roof is closed.  At least it does for Brewers games. It also gets pretty warm if the roof is closed.  If you find a sitter or not you can pump or BF in the first aid station.  Another option is to go later.

  • We recently went to a Detroit Lions game at Ford Field. We drove, parked far away and walked in to save on parking (free). I wore LO in the ERGO and ended up nursing in one of the bathrooms since there was NO WHERE to nurse. The first aid station was occupied with an emergency when it was time for him to nurse. We had him wear a hat and that blocked out much of the noise. It isn't that loud there though. I would say he did great! He slept through much of the game, but did get fussy a few times too. Honestly, it wasn't really that fun for me (especially the nursing in the bathroom part).
