I am starting to hate this more and more every day. I feel like we never get enough time together as a family and I feel like we can never get enough done in the house because we are not here enough together. UGH...I really wish his hours would change but that won't be happening any time soon

( Sorry, just needed to vent this morning.
Re: Anyone else's DH work on the weekends?
Not married, but my boyfriend works friday, sat, sun, and wed everyweek. It's a lot better then his last shift because he only works 9-7 instead of 10am-midnight!
He's the single greatest thing I've done in my life and reminds me daily of how fun (and funny) life can be. He's turned out pretty swell for having such a heartless and evil mother.
My Dh rotates being on-call on the weekends - usually only once a month or so. Luckily he is able to do so from home (he's in IT and monitors world wide systems so he doesn't have to worry about traveling to fix something). However today he's doing a training so he's gone 9am-3pm.
I know what you mean though.
THIS ISN'T THE BUMP, THIS IS SPARTA!!!
DH works every other sat 9-12... NBD, but he just got a transfer that takes him from a 35 min commute to an hour... awesome, especially with a baby coming any day. I hate corporate crap.
*sorry to vent on your thread*
No he doesn't but I'm the one with the crappy shifts. I work 11:30am-8pm m-f and saturdays 8am-4:30pm. It really sucks!
"A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for"
DH and I both work FT Mon-Fri during typical business hours, but DH often does side work on weekends...for free, and I get sick of it. He is an auto mechanic, and we both have big families, so someone is always bugging him to work on their car. He doesn't mind doing favors, but lately it has gotten ridiculous with all the people needing work done. He won't say no to either of our parents, or my sister, because they babysit for us for free, which is fine with me except he's been working almost every weekend this summer! Then he doesn't feel like doing anything the rest of the weekend because he spent so mch time out in the heat.
His "friend" (who basically stopped talking to him when DD was born) actually had the balls to text DH the other day and ask him to drive 4 hours to VA to fix his truck. DH said no to that one!
no, but i work weekends (Wed through Sun) and DH works M-F so we have the same issue. it SUCKS
I know how you feel DH works 7-3:30PM and I work 3-11PM. Plus I normally end up working weekends when he is home. So I never get to see him, then he doesn't understand why I get pissy when he has to go do something on nights that I am home. Oh plus this weekend he is away for a bachelor party in the mountains. . .
