I need a group here. I can't get any of them right (except a front carry in the Mei Tai) and Jana is so short that it doesn't really matter, she's uncomfortable. I don't understand how people do this crap with newborns!!! They are smaller than she is. I'm just about ready to give up.

Re: I'm a BWing failure!
What carriers are you trying? What mei tai do you have, and what's happening that it's not working when you try her on your back? You said that she's so short, so is she being "swallowed" by the mei tai? If that's the case have you tried tying the mei tai like an apron first in order to shorten it a bit? If that doesn't work you can fold it first and then put it on. Also how are you getting her on your back? I always like a hip scoot, it seems easier than the santa toss.
Have you tried non stretchy wraps?
And you're not a failure, you just haven't found the right carrier yet. There are websites that let you rent carriers which would be a great option since you said there isn't a group near you! What area are you in BTW?
For the DIY wrap, this is my favorite carry for front carry. I like it because it's one you can wrap and then get your lo in and out while keeping it wrapped. So you could wrap at home and then when you get to the fair, put her in.

For the mei tai, maybe try having her hands out not inside the body of the carrier. T hates having his hand inside, I think it's too confined for him. If the carrier is too tall for her to have arms out, try folding the mei tai first and then tying to your waist. Not sure how the instructions for the infantino are, but I like these from Bamberoo.

Maybe today will be your day, especially at the fair while she's outside and looking at everything. Believe me, it takes time and practice. I remember with wrapping I would sometimes get frustrated and think I was a wrapper failure.lol it does make it harder when LO is crying too and then the aggravation of it comes into play. Hopefully the tips will help mama
Arkansas! Enough said. But Northeast Arkansas. I have seen exactly one other person use a Moby.
The first one is the one I've used. Somehow my material just gets rolled up. It never lays flat like all the pictures. Maybe I'm just too fat. It looks like a bunch of rope crisscrossed around me. The only difference in the Infantino and the one in the second link is the Infantino has little loops to put the shoulder straps through on the body of the carrier. Which I think would make more sense to wrap around baby's bum, but obviously I'm not an expert. I'll try folding it and going to the front. That seems like the easiest solution for today.
