If your garage sale is over, take down your fvcking signs!

and yes, I said "fvck". Please cry about it.Crying

 

Time to go make some brownies and commence on eating the whole pan.

    I saw a sign out in front of our neighborhood saying "Charity Yard Sale." It could be for real, but I thought to myself, Now that's a cheap way to ensure people will come!

    Yeah, we ALWAYS took down our signs after a garage sale.  My dad would make us count & do a little landmark map to remember them all.  I agree it's so rude not to!  And a bit of a yard sale tease!

    We have to actually get a permit from the city to put up a garage sale sign.  You fill out papers where it is & the times, they put them out for you & pick them up as soon as your time is up...  thankfully, I just moved out of city limits so this rule does not apply to me! :)

    Why, so you can leave them up?

    I think that sounds like a pretty sweet deal if they will put them up and take them down for you.

    It also bugs me when the sign simply reads "Garage Sale! TODAY! 8-2" and then I wonder.. is it actually today? Or was it yesterday? Do I really want to go to that location just to find out?

    No- We don't do garage sales.  My parents have a big community one at their church & all the money in donated so we just take our stuff there.  I'm happy to be out of the city because they will find a way to charge you for just about anything.  Nothing really applies to us except for burn bans!

    Every Sunday in the summer and early fall, they use our local drive-in movie theatre for a flea market. It's pretty awesome! They also have another indoor flea market year-round in a building that used to be a successful department store in the 1980s. At both places, anyone can set up shop. There's concession stands, too. Even local produce. I love it but lately I have not been up to walking around. Every town should have something like this!
