What is the one thing your LO can't live without?

For DD, it's her lovey - we now try to keep it in her crib because if she sees it, she goes ya-ya, which is actually pretty cute.  We used to use it as a barometer of how tired she was (she's always been a nap-fighter).  If she was tired, she would grab it, ball it up and lay down wherever she was.  If she wasn't, she'd just sit and play with its tag.

  • His FP seahorse.  He has one for home and one for daycare.  It stays in  his crib unless it is bedtime or naptime, but if he could, he would drag it along with him everywhere.

  • His pacifier.  I have no clue how I'm going to wean him.  I wanted to have it done by now, but we keep going through rough spots when I think it would be cruel to try to take it away.  First we moved internationally to Italy.  Now I just started working full-time, so he's transitioning to day care.  I hope I can wean him by the time he is 2.

  • I made her a little fleece tie blanket. It goes everywhere with us-we don't know when we'll need it's "calming powers"!

  • Graham crackers.

Everything else appears to be completely negotiable to her. She has yet to get attached to anything non-food.

  • Definitely their taggie blankets. They also each have a stuffed animal (doggie for Alex, bear for Will) that they like and sleep with, but nothing compares to their Blankies.

  • DD loves her blanket.  She has a ton of them but there is one specific one that she just loves. She is not allowed to leave the house with it but she always knows exactly where it is in the house.  It's actually really cute b/c she calls it her baby.  She will see it on the couch or something and she will go snatch it up and hug it and say "ohhh my baby my baby!" It's so darn cute!!
  • Their tv shows (Wiggles, Elmo)...Bad Mommy, Bad Mommy
  • Recieving blankets are his lovies. He sucks on them (so gross).

Same thing here. His "nighs" live in his crib, or he'd walk around all day with one stuffed in his mouth and be mute. I occasionally end up with a meltdown in the morning because he didn't want to say goobye to "nigh" until nap time.

  • Peanut butter. It is the one thing I can always get her to eat. That and her fisher price projection mobile. She loves playing with the buttons before she falls asleep.
