That I'm ready to have this baby prior to the due date. I've been a firm believer that baby will come when ready. The aches and pains that come with pregnancy have never been a good enough reason for me to think this baby needs to come out sooner than later.
Yesterday when my midwife ordered a 24 hr urine collection because a few times my bp has been higher and then minutes later back to normal, she wants to check for pre-e (which I still think is odd with having a week to go... but oh well) and said depending on the results and if I'm favorable we could try an induction. I still want this baby to come on it's own but I definitely want what's best for the baby too.
It's just really strange for me to now change my thinking to having my baby sooner than next Friday...
Re: 1st time all pregnancy...
I showed signs of pre-e on and off the last month of my pregnancy, but my BP stayed within the normal range until the very end. At my 39 week appointment, everything looked perfect, but less than 48 hours later I was in triage being admitted to start an induction for severe pre-e, it came on SUPER fast. There's no time line for it in terms of when it can strike in pregnancy (and it can even come on AFTER delivery).
What symptoms did you have?
The morning I was induced: Extreme swelling in my feet, legs, hands and face, +3 protein in urine, BP that was high if I wasn't lying on my left side, a low white blood cell count, and a headache they couldn't even get rid of with morphine.
Before that I had been swelling pretty severely, my BP had been climbing (but wasn't in the high range until the morning they induced me), a little bit of protein in urine and I started getting the headache around 38 weeks but it progressively got worse to where it wasn't treatable (it went away at some point during delivery or maybe after...labor pain kind of trumped headache pain at some point.)
I haven't had any protein show up during my appts but my midwife was wondering if I was having some random bp climbs during the day so that's why she ordered 24 collection.
Thanks for sharing. I'll be keeping an eye out...
You're welcome! No protein is definitely a good sign! I'll keep my fingers crossed that pre-e stays FAR away
