3rd Trimester

Lending maternity clothes fail

My cousin, who I thought was about my size, gave me 3 huge Ikea bags of maternity clothes to try on/borrow/keep for the next few weeks so I have something to wear when it gets chilly without buying more stuff I'll only wear a couple times. So exciting, right?

So I tried all the stuff on tonight...for the pants, whatever wasn't 2 inches too short was way too tight. A few of the sweaters fit, and I'm keeping 2 pairs of workout pants, but I guess I'll have to rely on the one pair of khakis I bought if I want to dress nicer in chilly weather for the next 6 weeks. Sigh.

Anyone have any thoughts on maternity tights? If I can find a pair of thicker tights I can probably keep my knit dresses from the summer going with some layers.

He's growing up, but he'll always be my baby!

Re: Lending maternity clothes fail

  • My cousin gave me a huge bin of clothes when I first got pregnant....hardly anything fit so I ended up buying alot regardless..THAT said I've had luck finding regular leggings that are much cheaper than maternity at Old Navy, Charlotte Russe, Target and Walmart. Where I live (MA) the weather has still not transitioned to my beloved fall weather but I"m planning on layering maternity tanks under cardigans and keeping them unbuttoned and scarves, open blazers, ect (if the weather ever changes!!!)

I bought the Old Navy maternity leggings. They were like 12 bucks, and are super comfy. I wear them under dresses and also with long shirts and are much more comfortable than most of my maternity pants at this point.

This! They are so comfy, and super cheap!

  • Hmmmm...leggings, didn't think of that! I'm not normally a huge fan (only own 1 pair of regular ones) but this is definitely a good time to check them out. Luckily I have some great regular cardigans that still look good layered so I'll pay a visit to ON and see. Thanks!

I waited until Mat leggings went on clearance at Target, I have to have that full panel at this stage of the game.... so comfy!
