Hey! Do any of you use an exosaucer with your LOs? I feel like Jacoby really wants to have some independence and is ready to sit up and look at things...grab things, manipulate them and just all out play, but I hate that our only real option at the moment for independent play is with him laying on his back (he does tummy time, but it isn't his favorite...so we don't push it). He is close to sitting up unassisted, but isn't quite there yet...
I think he would have a blast in an exosaucer...any recommendations for the one you use or any reasons that we should steer clear of using one at all?
TIA!
Re: Exosaucer?
Well I wouldn't be concerned about that
We really don't leave DS to entertain himself and would definitely not over use it...maybe 15-20 minutes a day...in the same room as us (maybe while I'm cutting things up for dinner or standing over the stove) when it isn't safe for me to wear him. Right now DH holds him in the kitchen while I do these things so that we can all be together, but I really think he would like to be playing...maybe I'm wrong, but he is just so interested in EVERYTHING right now...and loves to manipulate things
We even have a very AP nanny...so I'm definitely not worried about over use.
We used an exersaucer for DD starting at about 4 months. She loved it. We would never leave her in it for longer than about 30 minutes a day. It was great because it occupied her when I had something else I needed to do like when we were eating dinner or I had to deal with laundry.
Oh good
This is sort of what I envision using it for as well! It will be especially helpful if DH isn't home yet and I want to get dinner going...b/c knives, hot surfaces and babywearing just don't go...
Yep. He loves it (talking to the sunshine below @ 4 months). I couldn't safely cook dinner without it.
Like all things, it's fine in moderation.
Thanks! I'll totally check out craigs list. DS is 4 months and 2wks old
THIS...I can still get maybe 20 min 30 if i'm lucky with LO playing happily in it while I change/fold laundry, throw something together for dinner etc.
