Just one bottle at daycare?

We usually make all our bottles for the day in the morning because we have to send premade bottles to daycare. Well, now that we've switched to ready-to-feed daycare said we can send one bottle with the 32oz container. We usually use 7 or 8 bottles a day and wash them all night. Does anyone use the same bottle at home too and just wash it in between? If so, how do you wash it (quick rinse or soap and hot water). I've been sterilizing all these bottles every day this whole time... but I'm thinking daycare might be on to something...? I don't know though, I wonder if they should be washed really well each time (which probably doesn't happen at daycare anyway).

  • as I use bottles (SAH) I wash them with water in the sink and dish soap, we never use a sterilizer or dish washer, just the scrubbie brush from BRU and that only is used for bottles. I do sterilize them when I first buy them in hot water.

Once in awhile in a pinch I will rinse out the bottle she has just used without soap and reuse it but not more than one time.

  • We leave two at daycare all the time.  At home we have four.  I sterilized them before we first used them but now they just get washed with hot water and soap.  Our pedi said that you only need to sterilize them after your baby has been sick because otherwise, it's just like us eating off our plates/utensils.

  • I for some reason have this thing about bottles, most people say I am over the top. DS has two at day care ( I always send 3). I usually hand wash them  with hot soap and waterand then throw them in my sterilizer ( it honestly takes 12 extra minutes). WHen I have a full dishwahser I put them in there in stead. Do what works best for you

  •  my old day care did this.  they wanted 1 bottle and 1 paci that they labled for each child.  They would wash the bottle after each use.  They said it was easier to keep track of just one .

  • My daycare wants all bottles prepared beforehand.  They will not touch the formula or the milk.  Therefore each baby in the nursery has several bottles each in the refrigerator in their section.

Each babies is color coded with dishwasher safe tape with the baby's name and a label stating whether it is formula or breast milk.
