Is being overwhelmed a form of depression?

I don't feel sad, I feel stressed, as if there isn't enough time to get everything done.  I am a very on top of it kind of person and I feel so far behind that I can't catch up.

Is it okay to feel this way or would getting help help?

Re: Is being overwhelmed a form of depression?

  • If you just feel like there is too much to do in the day than that's pretty normal.  If you feel like you are always failing and your family would be better off without you, that's depression.  I had the PPA/PPD with my first DD and I literally wouldn't sleep because I was just sure that I was doing everything wrong and that i was the worst mom in the world.  The overwhelmed feeling is just par for the course even if it's your second time around.  i had to learn to prioritize what gets done and to ask for help so it actually gets done.  GL

  • I feel the same way! I don't think it's depression, just adjusting to something life changing. I am also the type of person who has to be on top of everything, and thinking about going back to work totally stresses me out. Especially since I'm a teacher, and it's going to be really hard for me to pump at work. I think it just takes time to get use to this new life.
