I'm 39 weeks and have to do a 24 hr urine collection this weekend. I have to go back to the OB on Tuesday for the results. My bp has been slightly elevated but when they recheck it it's normal. I'm bummed out because I'm so close to my due date and depending on how things go, they might look at inducing me. I so wanted this baby to come on it's own.
Re: 24 hr urine test :(
Right with you. I'm doing my 2nd 24 hour test today, induction Monday if the results aren't good.
Good luck with passing your test...or sending some labor dust your way in hopes your LO will come on it's own first!
It still can. If you are not having severe headaches, swelling and have super high urine they will probably just require bedrest for now until you go into labor.
They really only want to induce if they have too. They didn't induce me until my bp was 200's over 100's and I had the worst headache of my life and was puking. My blood count and urine was terrible and ds wasn't moving much.
try not to worry!
Have your bp readings been high all the time or high and then normal like mine? I've had no problems with headaches, vision changes, etc. Honestly I feel like the closer I get to the due date the more nervous I get at the appts. I sometimes have white coat syndrome so not sure what to think.
I bought a bp monitor for $30 at the pharmacy because my doctor wanted me to take it a few times a day. Not a bad investment if you think you have 'white coat syndrome.' My bp is consistently higher, but not incredibly high (usually close to 140/90 but never quite there, and goes down when I rest). I haven't had headaches/vision changes either and feel great except for lots of swelling. But, I know that pre-e is sometimes asymptomatic and my blood work (which I've done twice) and first urine test both had borderline results too. Have you had the blood tests done yet?
They are doinig the blood work on Monday morning when I turn in my collection. Last week my bp was 120/72. Today it was 138/80 and then 122/74 when they had me rest on my left side for a bit.
