Hey Moms!
I am starting to look at Christmas ideas and my daughter has outgrown her play kitchen but still likes to ?play kitchen.? I am thinking about getting her a bigger one but it will have to go in her play area in our living room.
Does your child age 4 and over have a play kitchen that is still good for their height?
And/or what are your kids most into these days?
Thanks!
Re: Moms of 3.5 - 6 yr olds please come in
Well, I have an almost-4 year old boy and twin 6 year olds.
They all like to 'play kitchen' by cooking with me in the kitchen.
What we have done, and another idea is to get her a Kids Can Cook cookbook (Jamie Oliver has a cool and healthy one) and also get her some of her own baking essentials (bowl, spoon, spatula, apron).
Just an idea.
This is us too. They're at the age now where they'd much rather actually do stuff in the kitchen with me than pretend to do it on their own.
We do that too. She has her own apron on top of mine on the hook in the kitchen and I involve her when I am cooking. But her little neighbor friend who is 6 months older than she is likes to come over and they like to pretend they are doing more than tea parties these days. And this is going to sound horrible to say but her friend has an attitude problem when I try to cook with both of them in the kitchen, so I just don't have the patience to do it with her too. She is here every other weekend and stays the night sometimes so I'd like them to be able to play with a toy kitchen.
(The friend is an only child of divorced parents who use her as a tug of war. So if she doesn't get her way - and there are plenty of opportunities for that in the kitchen - she has a fit. Maddie will deal with her fits in her room and I figure it is character building for her to learn to deal with difficult people. But I'm not negotiating with a little tyrant in my own kitchen!)
