I'm a teacher so I went and saw our school nurse. My blood pressure is 138/86. She said the bottom number is a little high...but was concerned about me seeing stars. And the 7 pound weight gain in two weeks. She asked me to call my dr. right away. My dr. was in with a patient so the nurse said she'd call me back. She said she may want to have that monitored? What's that mean? Hospital?
Re: Update on "being worried" post...
lurking. but yes
They will have you go in for a few hours to monitor your blood pressure over a time period, they may do a nst also and will for sure collect urine sample.
HIGH bp is consider 140/90 so you're right on the border.
good luck!!
Same thing happened to me and I was sent to the hospital to be monitored. They had me lay on my side for a few hours while they checked my BP every 15 minutes and monitored LO's heartrate and activity. They also made me do a 24 hour urine collection (icky).
Everything was normal so they sent me home. Had my BP stayed high and things were irregular I would have been admitted to stay over the weekend and gone from there.
At one point my BP was super low and they said LO was the most active 29 weeker they had ever seen and was very healthy. They sent me home once they determined I did not have pre-e. They said the spots/stars could be from the fact I was severely dehydrated so I'm required to drink at least 80 ounces of water a day.
