Hey I thought I would share this article since recently the one on the bump that I read was really more for toddlers, and also because some of the points covered in the article are ones I have seen asked in these forums. Many of you already are well aware of the things in the article, but there are definitely a few people out there who have never read such an article ( like the poster from 0-3 that decided to give us all "advice" to avoid our children having a flathead!)
Re: Newborn Safety Article - Good Basics
Its a good article. But its inevitable in a few months these will be the posts by some of the women here....
My baby sleeps better on it's stomach. Someone tell me I'm still a good mommy even though I'm not following safety rules.
My baby fell off our couch/bed/changing table. I didn't think he/she could move that much! Someone tell me I'm a good mommy even though I didn't follow safety guidelines.
Oh ya, sh!t still happens even if you do know all the *rules*.
I just recall a number of questions/comments regarding things posted in the article and the poster getting massively flamed. So I thought it may be a useful read to avoid that happeneing to a few.
I am likely going to be particularly anal regarding some of the things that can lead to SIDS because I have a sister that died of SIDS before much was known about how to prevent it. But everything is relative, similiar to eating sushi or changing cat litter in pregnancy perhaps
