3rd Trimester

"Just you wait..."

I was training the replacement for my job the other day (I'll be gone for a year, hope she was paying attention) and she was asking how I was feeling. I told her "tired, but could be worse". She busts out with "oh, you think you're tired now? Just you wait until the baby is born, then you'll know what tired is". You know what lady, just you wait till I put my foot in your a$$ the next time you say that! Every time I see her it's the same thing...well I'm not you, my baby will not be the same as yours and I didn't ask your opinion, you asked me a question.

 Any good "just you waits"?

  • I try never to complain about getting up 3 times a night to pee because inevitably someone will say "just you wait until you have the baby - then you'll be up all night feeding and changind diapers."  I mean, I get it - that's why I want my sleep NOW.

  • Everyone has told me to "sleep, sleep, sleep before LO arrives" but more annoying is how many people have told my husband that the first few months are going to be a nightmare of non-stop screaming baby and misery. Its funny because all of these buddies of his have 2-3 kids so it couldn't be that miserable!!! grrr
  • I also told a lady about the co-sleeper we bought so LO will be close in the night while I BF and she and MIL both chimed in that "It won't last and LO will make too much noise and keep you awake" Yes, so I should just lock him in his room without even a monitor so I hear no noise from him and hope he's still breathing in the morning?

  • I hate that everyone assumes your experience will be EXACTLY like theirs. all except my neighbor. Her baby is pretty good, she had a VERY easy pregnancy. The worst thing was slight hip pain. H and I have had it very rough lately. I am unemployed and lost my insurance and medicaid will not accept us so we pay out of pocket for everything. Also there have been a few trips to l&d for different reasons and I have been fairly stressed. She tells me that her kid is good because she was so calm and that I better wait and see that my Natalie will probably be a terror! WTF? biiiitch.

  • JUST YOU WAIT til the baby get here.. you'll be so in love!

Honestly, I was more tired at the end of my pregnancy than I am now. Hope that helps!

  • The best are the "just you wait" comments from people who don't even have children!!!! Really? How would they even know!!

If I have one more person tell me that I am not huge because this is my first baby I am going to scream!!! They all say, "Just wait until your next baby ..."

I also get many "just you wait" comments from DH's ex wife every time we pick up his daughter. She likes to tell me that I am going to get huge, "just wait!" Well I only have 6 weeks left and I am still not huge, I eat healthy, and exercise so probably not going to happen! Sorry that her "baby" is seven years old and she still hasn't lost the 90 pouns she gained during pregnancy!!

     Ugh long rant LOL

  •    I actually get the "just you wait's" and the "trust me's" from the MIL. For instance, she had us picking out baby stuff that we still needed a few weeks ago and said we needed a changing table and a small diaper organizer to go on top. Well, I had told my husband and her that we didn't have the room for a changing table at the moment and if we got it it would just sit in the box (which it is) and the first words out of her mouth were "Well you need it, trust me. When you have a baby and need five hands you'll understand.Learn from experience" I could've punched her. That's all she ever says to us and I keep telling her that everyone's different and stuff my mom went through, my brother and SIL aren't going through and ALOT of the stuff I've gone through with my pregnancy neither one of them have either.

And my husband wonders why I avoid going to her house...it's just better than starting WWIII.  ;)
