I honestly think when people say this, they think they are being "pregnant friendly" I know I said some things to people before I was pregnant that when I look back at I cant believe I even said it.
No kidding. Yesterday DH and I went to Walmart and as we were leaving we ran into a friend of his and his girlfriend whom I have never met before. He straight up says "This is my wife, isn't she fat?" To people I have NEVER met! I was so embarassed. I know he was trying to be funny but THAT was not funny. It actually hurt quite a bit since I have been a bit sensitive about my weight. Needless to say I'm still kinda pissed about it.
I thought it was the first unspoken rule about pregnant women. Do NOT call us fat, in ANY way!

Oh I would have KILLED DH. I'm sensitive to it the weight issue also. I try to have a sense of humor, like if I can't squeeze between two chairs or something, I'll make a funny comment about being a whale or something, but for osmeone else to say it is just... wow!

I completely agree & can relate to this. So I just smile & brush it off if someone makes a comment regarding my size, etc.
