3rd Trimester

why do people open their mouths without using their brains?

I got my first "wow, you must be due any day now" comment.

My response Indifferent "actually.  I'm not.  but thanks."

Anyone else get this comment?  WTF are people thinking?  When is it ever ok to tell someone they're fat?!?

  • i have no idea!

its like the overweight woman who told me i was huge and that i must be carrying twins....yeah, i really had to bite my tongue on that one!

  • I honestly think when people say this, they think they are being "pregnant friendly" I know I said some things to people before I was pregnant that when I look back at I cant believe I even said it. :(

  • yea, it's annoying. Almost as fun as when they ask if you're having twins. Goes with the territory though.

  • No kidding. Yesterday DH and I went to Walmart and as we were leaving we ran into a friend of his and his girlfriend whom I have never met before. He straight up says "This is my wife, isn't she fat?" To people I have NEVER met! I was so embarassed. I know he was trying to be funny but THAT was not funny. It actually hurt quite a bit since I have been a bit sensitive about my weight. Needless to say I'm still kinda pissed about it.

I thought it was the first unspoken rule about pregnant women. Do NOT call us fat, in ANY way!

Oh I would have KILLED DH.  I'm sensitive to it the weight issue also.  I try to have a sense of humor, like if I can't squeeze between two chairs or something, I'll make a funny comment about being a whale or something, but for osmeone else to say it is just... wow!

I completely agree & can relate to this. So I just smile & brush it off if someone makes a comment regarding my size, etc.
