My NP has now mentioned the flu shot twice to me. I am researching the places in my area that do it. I have some questions for you:
* Did your dr recommend it?
* Have you gotten it yet?
* How many weeks were you when you got?
* Did you get the mercury free one?
* How much did you pay?
TIA!
Re: Questions about flu shot
1. Yes
2. Yes, it's required at work
3. 33 weeks
4. Aren't they all mercury free now? I know you should get the shot and not the nasal mist...
5. Free
1. yes, my doc recommends it
2. I haven't gotten it yet, my work will do them mid-november.
3. I will be 20-21 weeks then.
4. I have to ask about the mercury. If it does have it, I'll talk to my ob about the non-mercury one.
5. Since work requires it, it's free. If it's at my OB's office, it's covered by insurance.
1. Yes, my OB said that the CDC is expectng that this will the worst flu season yet and that not only me but DH and anyone else who will be around the baby alot should get the shot.
2. Yes she gave it to me at my appt on Friday
3. Almost 22 weeks.
4. I am unsure if it was the mercury free one but I did get it at my actual OB office so I find it unlikely she would give me something that is harmful to the baby.
5. I didn't pay anything out of pocket. I honestly told her I was interested and next thing a nurse walks in and pokes me.
My dr recommended it.
I got it today at my appt.
15 weeks.
I assume it was mercury-free, since I got it at my OB's office, but I didn't ask.
I had to pay $25.
* Have you gotten it yet? Yes, I got it on Tuesday.
* How many weeks were you when you got? 19
* Did you get the mercury free one? I don't actually know...I am assuming they gave me a safe version because I had it done at the OB office.
* How much did you pay? It was covered under my insurance
My docto rmore than recommended she essentially said unless I had a better reason why not to get one that I needed it.
I will get it at my next appt on the 30th. I will be 21 weeks 4 days. I am not sure if htey are mercury free but since my ob is dispersing I would imagine it is safe. I won't have to pay since I will be there on an ob appt. I think your gp can give ti to you for the cost of your copay.
1. My doctor recommended it for me and my husband as well.
2. Just got it on Tuesday, so I was 26 W 5 Days
3. No idea if it was mercury free-it was at my OB's office, so I would think whatever they gave me was safe.
4. Free!
* Did your dr recommend it? He said it was up to us, until he realized that DH works in a high school, I work in a college and DD goes to daycare. Then he recommended it.
* Have you gotten it yet? Yes, all 3 of us got it within the last 2 weeks
* How many weeks were you when you got? About 33 weeks
* Did you get the mercury free one? Probably not, I just got what my doctor's office had. DH and I went to our family doctor (DH also got the whooping cough vaccine) and DD got hers at her Ped's. office.
* How much did you pay? Nothing. We only have a copay if we see a doctor. These were all done by a medical assistant/LPN.
Doc recommends me and dh to get one.. I will recieve mine at my 14 week apptment...
Of course I am getting the mercury free and its covered on our insurance.
