I posted this on the 3TC board, too, but I wanted to give you all an update.
Baboo, thanks for putting it out there so everyone could keep me in their T&P's. I really appreciate it. I can use all the T&P's anyone can spare.
My OB/GYN looked at my chart and the nurse called to tell me that my doc said to wait 3 months and then have a repeat u/s to see if the fluid/inflamation is still there. WTF? I wasn't prepared for a "wait and see" attitude. I told the nurse that this didn't feel "right" since I'm 34, have only one tube, and we're TTC. She got me in for a consult with the doc on Monday. So, more waiting from her...
But, in the meantime, I got really curious as to why she wouldn't refer me to an RE for an HSG. On an impulsive whim, I called the RE and made an appt for October 11th. I've never been seen there before, so this is only a consult/initial visit. I feel very badly about going behind my OB/GYN's back. I can always cancel the appt...but I figured if my OB/GYN tells me Monday to go ahead and call the RE, it's already done and I don't have to wait as long to get in.
Did I do the right thing making the appt with the RE? Or should I really just take a "wait and see" attitude. I'm struggling with this decision. I didn't think that fluid in the tubes just clears up on it's own. Am I misinformed?
Thanks ladies. You've already been so helpful to me already. I truly appreciate it
Re: TFAS Gals...update to my tube issue
I think you were right to make the appt with the RE. That's what I would have done too.
You have to do what you feel is right/best for you. End of story.
I think you made the right decision.

Hey hon! I've been thinking about you!
I am over "wait and see" myself, I don't know much about your condition, but I wouldn't want to put 3 months on hold either! I would ask her at your appointment what would happen if it is still blocked in 3 months? Is there something you can take, a procedure they can do? What are the risks of damaging the tube if you went ahead with any procedures now?
I don't think it is wrong to call an RE and you should not feel guilty. I am struggling to call one myself and I may have to find a new OB too, since I have been calling for 2 days to get my 7dpo results and it has been over 2 weeks since the draw.
You are in my thoughts, I hope Monday goes well. Hang in there!!
I have been thinking about you too!
I don't think you jumped the gun at all. If I was in your position I would not want to wait three months either. I hope the appt on Monday goes well. Make sure you take a list of questions with you as we tend to forget things we wanted to ask when we are sitting right there.
Keep us updated!
I see your crosshairs are now dotted!
lol
I know my chart is insane this month plus I have had a cold for the last few days so I am sure that does not help. I am thinking this cycle is a bust at this point.....FML
