I saw this on another post about getting your cervix to thin out. I looked it up and apparently it contains lots of prostaglandins. Did this actually for anyone? Is there any side effects?

I was taking it, and I got to 3cm but no contractions so they sent me home when I thought I had a leak... the week before I was not dialated at all... I did a LOT of walking as well though
There have been a couple threads about this on the Natural Birth board. From what I've read EPO is most effective if you get the oil capsules, then put a pin prick in them and insert them up as high has you can vaginally (attempting to get them close to your cervix). The best time to do this is before bed, and wear a pad at night to catch any oil that leaks out.
Also, I've heard Borage oil (Starflower oil) is more potent than Evening Primrose oil. My MW is going to have me start with the insertion of this stuff at 36 weeks I think to help soften up the cervix. It's probably best to consult your doctor/midwife first.
Re: EPO for cervix thinning
I opted for the oral suplement that I got at target and just the one pill before dinner
