I hurt mine (doc said it was prob fractured) with Sabina, but it hurt right away. Actually, now that I think about it, I didn't notice the separate tailbone pain until a week or two post-delivery (prob just because the stitches were healing) It took almost 4 months to heal though, so I wonder if you injured it, it was healing, and you recently did something to hurt it more?
Though there isn't too much they can do for it- I sat on a boppy for 3 months while nursing, but it hurt kindof, well, all the time. Hope its something that goes away soon! GL!
Ahhhh!! I made this EXACT post a while back. (Except that it was 1 year after M was born.)
Same situation... No known injury but lots of pain from sitting, some from walking, and relief when laying. It went on for months and I was afraid it was going to be with me forever, but it vanished on its own. I think it took 4 months to truly go away.
I'm sorry you're hurting, but I hope it goes away (faster) on its own.

yeah! It's so weird. It's been tender for a couple weeks but the past couple days is actually more painful. I just would like to avoid seeing a doctor since there isn't much they can do...

Going through the exact same thing right now. I have had previous tailbone injuries in the past, but this one I can't explain. When I injured my tailbone when I was 14(in a pantsing incident that went horribly wrong,) the doctor informed me that once you bruise/injure your tailbone, that it is permanently injured. Don't know if it is the same for injuring it during childbirth. A good massage therapist always asks me if I injured it before.
Can you feel a lump or anything on it? I know that there is a type of cyst that can develop and would need medical attention. GL! I hope that the pain goes away, you don't need anything else on your plate right now.

I have also injured in the past. a few times actually. I have taken some very hard falls. I didn't know that injury was permanent though. I am guessing then that I have just exacerbated it somehow.
