Big fat formula FAIL

I took back our can of Similac last night because of the recall, and everything had been taken off the shelf-- even the ready to feed.  So I thought we'd try Good Start instead... DH gave DD a bottle of it tonight.  She drank less than an ounce and projectile vomited it everywhere... Indifferent

Which formula is closest to Similac?  Enfamil?

Re: Big fat formula FAIL

  • That seems like a strange reaction to me, possibly just a coincidence?  We switched formula about 5 times for different reasons (Good Start, Similac, Enfamil lipil, Enfamil Gentlease, Up & Up) and have never seen a reaction like that.  I think there is a store brand of Similac in most stores, it should say right on the can "Comparable to Similac".

  • If you belong to BJ's, DD had no problem transitioning from similac to their store brand
  • Due to the recall, I bought Enfamil Gentlease and thought I try that for Bryce, but he refused to eat it and what he did eat he vomited up and had really stinky farts. I kept checking his diaper because I thought he had pooped, but no just really bad gas. lol. I had 3 of the little bottles of the Similac rtf and he wouldn't drink that either, for some reason he doesn't like the rtf. I did find 4 cans of Similac at the store that weren't recalled and he drank it up.

  • I was told by a nurse at our pedi office today that the Enfamil Premium Lipil was the closest I would get to the Similac Advanced we were using. So I went with the Target brand that is compared to the Enfamil. DS seems to be doing fine on it. No more gas than he had before and no spit up other than his usual amount. We are crossing our fingers.
