XP NBR: Anyone else think this is just bizarre?

I have two friends.  Friend A moved away and Friend B wants to go visit Friend A out of state.  Friend B books a flight and sends Friend A her itinerary WITHOUT confirming dates.  And yes, Friend B is staying with Friend A and Friend A has to take 3 days PTO from work now.  Anyone else find that completely rude and weird?

  • Yeah, that's a huge imposition.
  • Uhhh, yeah.  That's ridonk.  If I was Friend A, I'd send Friend B a list of hotels in the area along with a list of things to do while Friend A is at work.

  • Yes, I do find that very rude. I had two friends pull this one on me a couple of months ago. I moved out of state, and they decided it would be a nice place to spend spring break. They up and bought tickets before DH and I finished the cross-country drive and found a place to live. I always wonder what goes through people's minds when they do things like this.
  • yeah, that would rub me the wrong way for sure.
  • Yes weird and rude.

My ILs did that to us.  Bought tickets without talking to us.  And then MIL had the nerve to get pissed that I have plans with my friends (and will be taking the baby with me) on Saturday (they get in tonight and Alex has to take Friday off b/c I will not be stuck with them all day).

Um, you didn't check to see if it was a good time to come so STFU.

This, and I know people who have done that before. I myself have precious little paid time off and would absolutely not use it because someone invited themselves over for a visit.
