Today is my last day of this round of Clomid and next week is the follicle scan & IUI. I haven't had the HSG done yet and don't even have one scheduled, is that weird? If I have it done this close to the IUI is it going to jeopardize the success of the IUI? I have a call in to the doc, but was hoping some of you could put my mind at ease with some insight about this. TIA!
Re: No HSG before IUI?
I think they should have done an HSG to see if your tubes are clear even before you took clomid. In my opinion, there is no point in taking fertility medication without knowing for sure if your tubes are functioning properly. It also can be dangerous. My HSG was done between cd8-10 and it didn't affect my ovulation or ability to have TI that month. I hope this helps and I would definitely push to get it done sooner rather than later
Good luck!

Are you still with an OBGYN or are you with an RE? I would definitely advise not to have the IUI until you've had an HSG. Infact I would of told you the same thing before you even started clomid. Most OBGYN hand out clomid like it's candy. If your tubes are blocked no clomid, injects or IUI will help.

Are you seeing an RE or an OB? Sometimes OB's are quick to hand out clomid without doing all the proper testing. If you're not seeing an RE, please do so, and get an HSG done before you move on to an IUI. You really should have an HSG done before even going on clomid because all the meds in the world aren't going to help if you have blocked tubes.
Good luck.
I think it is a little strange that they would have you do a medicated IUI without making sure your tubes are clear. I would definitely question them about it.
My RE does the HSG only during CD8-10.
