I was wondering what everyone thinks about Maci moving to Nashville... Selfish or no?

Personally, I think she's being selfish. If Bentley wasn't in the picture, it'd be different, but she's moving him from all his family, his dad, and everything he's ever known just for some guy. If they wanted to see if they would work out living closer to each other then he should have moved to where she lived.

I think Ryan's an a$$ and if he really does care about his son he should have to work to see him. I don't really think he cares and is possibly taking her to court just for his parents and so he doesn't have to pay so much child support. I think she is the only smart one on the show.

I completely agree. And it's not like Nashville is across the country from her home town. Her family, Ryan, and his family can always drive up there to see Bentley. And I don't doubt that Maci will visit her hometown frequently.

I disagree with you...

Maci said it right a couple of episodes ago... His whole life everything she has done has been for Bentley and Ryan has never put Bentley first. She deserves a life for herself too. And it's not like she's moving across the country... Bentley will still see all of them. It would be different if she didn't have a good man, but she does and wants to give it a good shot, I don't blame her at all.

I agree with almost all of this, except that I used to think she was the smart one. Now, none of them are. Even though Ryan is an @ss, Bentley's still his son and he has the right to see him. Even if he is only wanting him more so he doesn't have to pay as much child support, she's still taking Bentley away from his grandparents.

It's 2 hours. Plenty of people live much further away from their grandparents and still have great relationships with them. Hell, my IL's are 2.5 hours away. Am I selfish for not moving closer to them?

It may be slightly selfish but I think she deserves to be a bit selfish. She tried for over a year to make Ryan happy and make things work. He is the selfish one, out partying while she worked, took care of their son and their home. It is obvious his parents are paying his child support since he doesn't have a job. I think they are the ones behind his trying to get more time with Bentley.

I think she will be fine even if her new relationship doesn't last. She has friends there and can go to school. Plus, its only a couple of hours away, not across the country. It may be just the fresh start she needs. She is the only mom on the show who puts her child first no matter what and puts her own feelings aside for his best interests.

I don't think the custodial parent should be trapped living near the non-custodial parent forever regardless of the situation. She is not moving THAT far away. It'll be interesting to see how frequently Ryan makes an effort to see his son now that Maci isn't dropping him off in Ryan's driveway every time. Sadly, I bet it will be less now that he actually has to make an effort. Good for Maci for doing what she wants for once.

I don't think she ever said Ryan or his family could never see Bentley. She just said he didn't deserve more than his current every other weekend visitation. I'm sure they will be required to split the transportation of Bentley and that Ryan's parents will see him when Ryan has him, just as they do now. Maci seems reasonable; if Ryan's parents wanted to spend a day with him, I doubt she would say no.

Maci is my favorite mom on the show! I think that her moving to nashville is really that bad. Ryan has not really been a father to Bently and the only reason that he is trying now is cause his parents and new girlfriend are pushing him to, i think Maci should dictate the days he sees Bentley because shes the one who does the most for him i mean last season Ryan looked at bentley and told him he wont buy his birthday cake! I think Ryan is the selfish one!

While I don't think it is selfish for her to move to Nashville, I think it's immature for her to move there strictly to be near Kyle. She says she moved for school, but she would not have moved there if Kyle wasn't living there. That said, I'm pretty sure she will be moving back sooner than she thinks.
