Curious to see how many people think the costume was inappropriate. I don't think it was but I see a lot of posters agreeing with PBS' decision to pull it.

Do I think it was risque? Not really, in poor taste? Probably - especially considering her history of music videos - but at the same time toddlers aren't watching her music videos and they certainly don't understand what cleavage means to adults.
The acting is horrible though, lol... that by itself should have gotten the clip scrapped from the very beginning...
Revealing enough for the FCC to step in and decide it can't be aired? Um, no?
But am I glad that PBS decided on their own to pull it? Yes. I think it saved them some fans. And that's how responsible consumerism should work. The business gets to decide based on the public's reaction how to handle it appropriately.
Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.
I certainly didn't expect anything less from Katy Perry - and I'm 90% sure she did it on purpose in hopes of getting more press coverage (because her whole schtick is pushing the envelope with all her sexual imagery. it's how she tries to stay relevant).
But if the point was to play around with Elmo and teach kids about stuff, she absolutely could have worn something a little less revealing. Just because you are a celebrity doing SS doesn't mean you have to appear in 100% character and costume (Elton John is the exception to everything of course ;-P)
I think it was probably a poor choice to invite her at all if I'm being honest.
I don't think it was "oh the horrors" bad, but I did think it was inappropriate, yes. She was singing a song about opposites and there is no need for short skirts and cleavage-even if that is her schtick. There is no reason to teach children that women need to be in revealing outfits at all times.
I showed it to my husband last night. I didn't even tell him about the controversy, just said I wanted to show him something. It took him about 20 seconds before he said it was innapropriate and a bad message for girls.
SS because I didn't think it was cute nor did I think it was going to ruin small children for life. Someone should have realized it was a problem before filming. But, I didn't think it's anywhere near worth the discussion.

I agree. Great press for her. Again, I don't have a problem with boobs, but do women need to have their tits on display on SS? I don't think so.
Re: Sesame Streetgate: A Clicky
Seriously inappropriate for Sesame Street. Here's a link:
