My boss keeps piling and piling on the work. We have these quarterly quality reviews we do, and he scheduled it for the week of my due date, even though 3 of our the 6 teams members will be away most of that week. My coworkers and I keep reminding him that there is a good chance I may not be in that week to do it: whether I have had the baby by then, go into labor during then, or if I am just too physically achy to come to work. (I am really starting to feel lots of pain at my desk this week etc..) He keeps saying he has faith I will be there at that time.
Then sometimes, he does a full reversal and he panics that I could go into labor any second and has me rush through projects to get them done in time. So either, I am giving birth now or way past my due date. The crazy thing is another co-worker had a baby a few months ago. She was on bed rest for a good 2.5 weeks before her due date. She missed a lot of work because of morning sickness etc..etc.. He has been 'lucky' in that area with me so far, but who knows how it will be these last few weeks. I just feel like he keeps forgetting that I am going on leave soon.
Anyone else experiencing similar stuff?
Re: Anyone else feel their Boss is in denial?
My main client is just in a constant panic about this project I'm working on--I think they think I'm the one in denial. They have another freelancer starting next week to help out/cover for me while I'm gone. I know it'll take her a few weeks to get up to speed, but I still have 6+ weeks to go!
It doesn't help that one of their staff delivered 4 weeks early a few months ago--because she was the last one before me, I think they're just assuming I'll go 4 weeks early too. I guess I could, but things have been 100% solid so far so there's no real reason why I would.
He's growing up, but he'll always be my baby!

...big brother to...???? Due March 2014!
Same here... I work at a university supporting a grad program and it's a very busy time of year. I have about 15 work days left to get things organized while trying to finish the work I've started... I have NO time to take on new projects, which seem to keep showing up on my desk/in my inbox. ARGH.
Not to mention that I've only been in this particular position since May and the person I took over from was sooo behind, disorganized, screwed things up, etc. You name it. I'm still not done cleaning up his messes.
I'm just about ready to stop coming to work. Maybe that'll snap them out of it. I need to start phasing out and finishing things up people!!!
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

this exactly! My boss kept giving me new projects, while I was trying to prep everyone for me being out. It's only been since this week - my due date was Monday! - that she has eased up.
