So I have a sex related question...

So I've noticed that I get really swollen down there after DH and I have sex.  I know that it's common because there is so much extra blood flow and what not, but it happens everytime and it seems to be a bit ridiculous.  Last night DH and I only had sex for like 5 minutes (we've been trying a lot more foreplay so that I don't hurt as much) and I was still incredibly inflamed afterwards. 

So here's my question - anyone else going through this and do you think it's really that big of a deal to talk to my doctor about?  I mean, really all he's going to tell me is to stop having sex right? LOL!

    Well, #1 I hate you bc I can't have sex so Stick out tongue  And #2 I'm going to hope you are using lube and lots of it.  At this point thats my suggestion since it sounds like your H is having ot put in extra effort.  Just a thought, and if it is uncomfortable...don't do it!  I know easier said then done!

    No, your doctor won't tell you to stop unless it's endangering the baby. She'll give you advice on how to reduce the swelling, etc -- like using lube, or trying a less "frictiony" position, or ice packs afterward.

    Our, um, repertoire has become quite limited due to same issue. I've found that some positions work better than others. (Not to get too TMI -- but hands and knees has been most comfy for me.)

    Yes, yes, yes.  Doggy style is my new favorite position.  My DH enjoys the swelling (even if it looks like a purple monster ate my vagina down there) and says it feels nice. 

    That's always been my favorite position, and my DH enjoys the swelling too - it's just that I don't enjoy the swelling...LOL!!!

    I don't know why it is so painful for you - that is a good question for your doctor. However, as to your swelling question, have you checked how swollen it is when you ARENT having sex / aroused? I was shocked the other day when I took a look after sex and saw how swollen things were. I asked DH and he said it had been that way for weeks! I asked why he didn't tell me! lol

    But anyway, that got me wondering how it is normally, and to my surprise it is just more swollen all the time. I think it's rather normal in 3rd tri.
