3rd Trimester

FB Vent

A "friend" on FB has had several complications with her pregnancy. The doctor has decide it would be better for her to stay in the hospital until the baby comes. All she ever does is complain about the doctor , the nurse , and the fact that she has not had the baby yet. She is not due until the beginning of November. They have put her on a strict diet for her GD and PreE , but she talks about sneaking in Taco Bell and Mcdonalds.  It makes me insane that all she cares about is herself.

I am sure that it is hard being on bed rest and being in the hospital , but they are doing what is best for her and the baby . The longer he is in there the better for him.  Sorry vent over.

Re: FB Vent

  • I agree, she is being incredibley selfish! If what I did and ate had as much of an impact on my LO as her actions do to hers, I'd be eating and doing nothing but what the doctor's recommend (I do indulge once in a while in McD's and TB). She shouldn't be biitching about them anyways, they are there to help here and baby.

I'd probably give her a piece of my mind personally.

Why do some people choose to be parents?

  • Why are you friends with this person?

That would be really hard for me to hold my tongue when the doctors are trying to do everything they can to keep her and baby healthy and she's just breaking the rules.

  • I can't stand when people biitch about the end of their pregnancies on FB when they aren't even due for several weeks.  People just need to be happy their babies are staying put.

I am not sure. We went to high school with her and was trying to be nice.  I have told her numerous times to be thankful that they are doing what they can for the baby. She is just selfish and ungrateful !

  • OP, feel free to tell her that they cannot hold her in hospital against her will.

If she despises it that much, tell her to check herself out.

She only cares about being back at home. Her H is a jerk and never comes to see her. I think eating TB and MD is fine, and I do it sometimes myself. They just told her she needed to stop eating stuff like that , her blood pressure is way to high.

  • Coming from someone who has been in and out of the hospital and had a very challenging pregnancy, it is very hard, no matter how happy you are about being pregnant.  There are tons of restrictions for pregnant women to begin with, but when it feels like everything is going wrong and every pregnancy condition thats out there, you get, IT IS VERY EMOTIONAL DRAINING!  She may be wishfully thinking or even talking about disobeying doctors' orders, but could be all it is...talk.  Until she actually does something that is detrimental to her health or he baby's health, let her vent.  It is the only control she may feel like she has.
  • I can't stand that!!!  People care more about their own comfort than their baby's!  I have a family member who decided to get induced at 38 weeks(!!!!!!!!!!!!) just because she was "uncomfortable".  That selfish sh!t makes me livid and I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut:)

I am sure she is having a hard time , and I don't doubt that it's emotional draining. I have a problem with her calling her nurses b!tches and being mad they wont let her have the baby when he only weighs 3 pounds. They are doing what is medically necessary to help her have a healthy baby.

  • I have been on best rest since week 12 and it sucks...BUT, I am thankful that my baby is healthy and if bed rest is going to keep him and myself healthy till he arrives then so be it.  It has been the longest most boring summer ever,....but LO coming in Dec makes it all worth it!
