Looking for OB/GYN or Midwife in Louisville, KY

I already posted this in the KY board, but its not as "happening" as the trimester boards, so I thought I'd see if I could get more bites:

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for an OB/GYN or Midwife if Louisville. We are moving to the area shortly after LO is born because of DH job and I need someone to see for my postpartum check up and for future general check-ups. Thanks!

  • Try the KY Nest board if you didn't.  My local bump board is not used at all - we're all on our local Nest since there are so few of us.

  • try the Natural Birth board for recs on a MW (or natural-minded OB).

Or you can go to www.mothering.com and go under "find your tribe in the message boards.  there should be a section for your area that you can ask the same question.  Again - it will be natural-minded (since you asked for a MW, I am assuming you are interested in that).

  • Randomly perusing the boards here :)

I went to Total Woman at Norton Suburban Hospital.  While there are no midwives, there are about 7 OB/GYNs who are all women, and all A-MAZ-ING!  I loved everyone of them, especially Pamela Hill because she delivered my son safe and sound :)  Their offices are located in the Suburban Women's Center connected to the hospital.

I have also heard great things by friends who go there about Women First, which is located at Baptist East, especially Dr. Leigh Price.

    Hope this helps!

  • I went to Womens First and Dr. Stephanie Dutton is the greatest! She saved my life. She did an emergency C-Section with my first child (I developed Eclampsia on the day of induction) and a scheduled C-Section with my second. They have wonderful doctors there, but Dr. Dutton is great and she really takes her time to get to know you.
