You ladies are scaring me. I have never had the flu shot and I am never had the flu. I am debating it this time around. I have had enough crap luck that I am scared to tempt fate.
But now everyone is talking about how much it hurts. UGH. Now I have 2 more weeks to decide.
Yeah...my pics were so old. I got 3 kids. Nuff said.
I don't think I have ever had a flu shot either but I am definitely getting one since I am pregnant with LO in prime flu season. Hopefully the OBGYN will have them available at my next appt.
Got mine yesterday and do not remember my arm hurting like this any other time? Best part I only had one option for sleeping because I could not lay on that arm last night it hurt so bad!
It doesn't hurt, I promise. The trick is to rub the injection site and move your arm around a lot the day you get the shot. I did that, and I had NO pain at all. If you don't rub and move the arm, it'll form a big welt and will hurt. I've heard it's the H1N1 part of the shot that makes it hurt a little more sore than previous years. Good luck!
And here's my opinion - what's a little bit of discomfort on a tiny part of your arm to help protect your baby? Seems like a no-brainer to me...but I tend to think of my LO before myself anyway...
It's like getting a massage or stopping bug bites from itching -- rub the injection site, drink lots of water and move it around to get the blood flowing
