  • I haven't heard anything about this.  Is it the next in the series or something else?

  • Bones - Outlander is a series of historical novels about time travel, huge red-haired Scottish men and sex.  Lots and lots of sex.

The books are pretty long (like 900+ pages in some cases) and if you read them, I recommend spacing them out.  I read all of them in the space of about a month and a half, and it got to the point where I was sick of the entire series and all the characters and I never want to read them again.

For me, they're like rum.  I had one bad night with rum and I can't.ever.drink it.again.  Ick!

  • wac - It's just a graphic novel based around the same story as Outlander.  There are probably some things uncovered that maybe she didn't touch on in Outlander but I believe it follows the same story lines.  But...you get to see pictures!!

Bones - it's just the best historic fiction/romance series evah!  :)  Check out the synopsis on Amazon (author: Diana Gabaldon).  It's a seriously long book but I flew through it.

This happened to me.  I had to stop after the fourth book. I do intend to go back to it someday, though.

As for the graphic novel, I haven't heard of it but I think I'll pass.  I prefer my own mental picture of Jamie, thanks.

Dear God, how did you read all of the books in a month and a half?!  I think it took me about 7 months to get through all 7.  And it was my second time around for books 1 - 4.

  • WHAT?!??!

How did I not know about this?  My husband is certain that if Jamie was real I would have left him (MH) for him (Jamie)...and I can't say that I am totally convincing when I deny it.

    Smile

I need to go to Borders now.

I started reading these in May and am now on the most recent novel...it can become a bit of overkill and I haven't been able to finish this one as quickly as the rest. DH likes when I read the books because then he gets sexy time if he does his "Shrek" impression.

I'm one of those people who can't visualize characters or scenery so a graphic novel might be good for me.

Well, I cheated a bit.  By book 4, I would get to the sex scenes and think, "They're having sex again?" and so I would skip a bunch of pages.

I swear, without the sex, those books are like 100 pages long.

Ha!!  Rum is my nemesis also.  One too many extra-strong pina coladas in Mexico = the first time puking from alcohol and rum and I are no longer on speaking/smelling/drinking terms.

...and yes, I said pina coladas.  Don't judge, they weren't wimpy like they are here.

For me, it was double shots of Captain Morgans after a night of drinking vodka cranberries.

Too funny and too true.  They are the horniest people I think I've ever read about.  I hope I have that much sex when I'm 50.

    cinema - Blasphemy!

scoutkate - ::sigh:: totally agree.  I like my personal Jamie.

Young Ian was way hotter than Jamie.  WAY.  I kept picturing Jamie as Hagrid from Harry Potter and it really turned me off.  Stick out tongue
