I asked my DC a few weeks ago if he has his paci for naps - and they said - nope! he doesn't even ask for i! So, I figured we could wean it off pretty well at home a night, too. I asked DH if I did the weaning for a week, would he stick with it - and he said yes! (he is usually the one that gives in). So, I am going to try it this week. He has cried a little at night, but nothing out of the ordinary - and he has a lovey, so that distracts him for the most part. ***crossing my fingers that this week will go ok****! :-) Tonight will be night 3.
Re: Night 2 of no paci!
Yay!!! Good for you!! I hope it continues to go smoothly!
You are also way braver than I am when it comes to the paci. I think I have as much of an attachment to him having it as he has to having it. I'm not even forcing the issue right now and figure it'll happen when it happens and if it doesn't then he'll be going to kindergarten with it...ha! (I'm pretty sure I'm going to be eating my words when the "no paci" day comes...eeeek)
How can our babies be almost 18 months old already anyways?!
Dx: PCOS and short luteal phase
18 cycles (3 with our RE) - Metformin + Clomid + HCG booster did the trick!

Man, time does fly, doesn't it? This is such a fun age, too.
I don't think he was very tired when I put him down, so he was wailing pretty good. After about 20 minutes, I went up and rocked him a bit to calm him down, but did not give in to the paci. When I put him down the 2nd time, he only cried for 6 minutes, and then was out. He did wake up in the middle of the night and cried. Just when I was about to go up to rub his back, he settled back down. So, it's still a "go" for now!
Awesome!
Night 4 was good! Well, I did put him down kind of late (I wanted to make sure he was nice and tired). He cried a bit when I left (as usual), but by the time I got to the monitor downstairs, he was just talking to himself until he fell asleep. Whew. This won't be as bad as I thought!
