It used to be a boy's name, but now it is like the most popular unisex name. It one of the few uber common names that I still like. If I meet one more Ella I'm going to snap.*
*I have a super common name, the most popular girls name of the year I was born. In high school my best friend had the same name, we also hung out with two more of the same name. No one EVER called us by our name because there was too much confusion. So we all got called by our last names. Think about that ladies, is your last name really what you want your lovely daughters to be known by?

I think it can be used for either. Its one we are thinking about for our baby.
old school avery's i know are boys. new aged avery's are girls
either way it's an overused, trendy-trendy name that i avoid.
