Registry Question

Hey Ladies! I've got my showers coming up in October and I'm checking my registry and cleaning it up. I have a few questions:

 

1.) Exerciser/Extrasaucer - is this a must have? If so what brand did you register for and why? 

2.) Bottles/Nipples - When I registered there were 3 different sizes (1-3). How many did you all register for of each size? 

3.) How many sets of crib sheets did you register for? Is 5 too many?

4.)Swing or bouncer or both? 

5.)Diaper pail - are you using one? Like a Diaper Genie?

    1. yes, DD loved the exersaucer

    2. I only regsitered for one variety box.  I was planning on BF so didn't need many.  I ended up buying more and ironically in a different brand. 

    3. 2-3 crib shets, 2 waterproof mattress pads

    4. BOTH!!!!!

    5. diaper pails gross me out!

    1.) Exerciser/Extrasaucer - is this a must have? If so what brand did you register for and why? Yes - My son, neice, and nephew loved this.  We actually got another one since we are having twins this time.

    2.) Bottles/Nipples - When I registered there were 3 different sizes (1-3). How many did you all register for of each size? I personally wouldn't register for the small ones.  I would get 6 or 9 oz.  You can always put more in those and will need them down the road.  I would have at least a day's worth.

    3.) How many sets of crib sheets did you register for? Is 5 too many? 5 is too many.  I would have 2-3 sets so you never have a naked bed when you do laundry.

    4.) Swing or bouncer or both? I would get both.  You never know what your baby will like.  Some babies like one or the other or both or neither.

    5.)Diaper pail - are you using one? Like a Diaper Genie? I use and love the Diaper Champ because you don't have to buy refills.  You just use trashbags.

    I don't post here often... but I had a few friends help me with this...

    1. Definately getting an exersaucer https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3420756  my niece hated the ABCD123 one this one had more options for playing it's QUITE entertaining!

    2. I just put 2 different brand bottle gift sets on the registry because babies can be quite picky and I wanted to open one to have her try first then I'll exchange the other or open the other if she doesn't like the first one.  Then i'll go buy more bottles of whatever kind she likes.

    3. I did 3 crib sheets and 2 waterproof pads.

    4. Both, my niece outgrew her bouncer she's only 4 months but she LOVED the vibrations of it when she was a newborn she still loves her swing to nap in.

    5. I am getting the diaper genie but I hear the diaper champ works just as well and you don't have to buy the replacement bags it uses just regular bags.

My brother recently had a baby and he is lending me his jumperoo as well. We will see which one baby likes better and probably send the one to my parents house since they will be watching baby at 3 months when I go back to work.

    2.) Bottles/Nipples - When I registered there were 3 different sizes (1-3). How many did you all register for of each size? We registered for the Avent infant starter set. If baby doesnt like them then we will try others. I did not bother registering for different size nipples though.

    3.) How many sets of crib sheets did you register for? Is 5 too many? 3 crib sheets, 2 waterproof pads

    4.)Swing or bouncer or both? Registered for both. You never know which baby will like best

    5.)Diaper pail - are you using one? Like a Diaper Genie? We registered for a diaper genie. It's our first baby so we will see how it goes...if we hate it then oh well.

It looks like you are due before the holidays and I know my family is always looking for something to buy for DD so we didn't put this on our registry for now. Figured it would make a perfect holiday gift for LO.

    2.) Bottles/Nipples - When I registered there were 3 different sizes (1-3). How many did you all register for of each size? I registered for 4 small and 6 large bottles, and 6 of each size of bottle nipple.

    3.) How many sets of crib sheets did you register for? Is 5 too many? Yes, 5 is a little much! I have 3 but really think you can make due with two... one on the bed and one in the wash (or one in the drawer for back up).

    4.)Swing or bouncer or both? BOTH! Although I just purchased the Fisher Price "Zen" swing (it was $143 at WalMart) and the swing seat detaches to be used as a bouncer as well. I think it is a great investment!

    5.)Diaper pail - are you using one? Like a Diaper Genie? Nah! We'll just take the stinkers outside. Seriously, have you ever had to empty one of those things after a few days worth of diapers are crammed in there... YUCK!

    Didn't get one w/ DD and that was fine, but I do want to get one with #2. I think they are nice to have.

    2.) Bottles/Nipples - When I registered there were 3 different sizes (1-3). How many did you all register for of each size? 

    We registered for all different bottles which was silly. We ended up using only the Born Free and mostly just the first 2 levels of nipple flow. I think we had 6 nipples in each size? I mostly BF so we didn't use them a ton. If you end up doing all bottles you would need more nipples. You can always buy some higher-flow nipples later.

    3.) How many sets of crib sheets did you register for? Is 5 too many?

    I definitely think 5 is too many. We only had 3 sets but mostly just used two. I do recommend getting at least one "ultimate crib sheet". That was recommended to me. We didn't use it for ages, but when DD got stomach flu it was AWESOME to have.

    4.)Swing or bouncer or both? 

    Definitely both! You don't know what Baby will like and it's wonderful to have both at home. DD loved the vibrating bouncer (total lifesaver!) and hated her swing. We'll try both again w/ this baby.

    5.)Diaper pail - are you using one? Like a Diaper Genie?

    We have Diaper Genie and like it. It is gross to empty, but it's easy and buying bags isn't a huge deal. One bag pack lasts a long time for us. We mostly like it b/c it provides a convenient, clean-looking, compact container that we can keep next to the changing table. It does a pretty good job of containing smells.
