If you had a natural childbirth or are planning to, what classes can you recommend or have you taken to prepare?
I'm being tormented by all the options:
Blooma in Edina offers Lamaze and others..
How about the hospital classes...are they any good for non-intervention/drug free birthing methods?
Bradley Method-This one I'm highly interested in..
Can anybody give any recommendations for Bradley Instructors?
I will be delivering at Maple Grove with a midwife; aiming for a water birth as well.
Thanks in Advance!
Re: NCB Classes-Need Recs
I recently took a birthing class at Blooma in Edina - it wasn't Lamaze or Hypnobirthing, just a general birth class taught by Sarah Longacre (the owner of Blooma). It was a 2-night course, something like 4-6 hours total time.
We liked the class - she was honest about the realities of birth in hospitals (and elsewhere) and gave us a lot of things to try to manage the pain and get through a drug-free birth. It wasn't a technique class, though...I had previously read the Hypnobirthing book and worked on that one my own and so I felt that her class complemented the work I was doing on my own. I figured that I was at least adding different tools that I may or may not want to use when the time comes!
