I'm hosting a shower this weekend for a girlfriend that is due on Halloween (which is my friend's favorite holiday).
Would it be stupid to do Halloween themed favors? I'm thinking something like that might be easier and maybe more practical than something babyish.
Any ideas?
Re: halloween themed favors? yay or nay?
caramel apples...good idea!
I was thinking more Halloween since the baby is due on Halloween but caramel apples works.
I just saw these instructions on how to make mini carmel apples:

Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday and if I had a shower around them I would love love love a halloween theme
I Looooooove that idea
So many cute things you can do with it too. Little baggies of candy corn mix, tiny "pumpkin" gourds with the babys due date painted on them. Hand made soaps (I did this for my wedding favors and used apple cider oil to scent them and pumpkin shaped sucker molds to make them). Mini trick or treat bags filled with goodies... ugh I could go on and on... I wish my shower were in October
Your friend is so lucky to have such a creative hostess!
i just love to throw a halloween party. AND a baby shower, put them together and oooooh boy, i'd be a nut job! i think it's a great idea! you could do so much with that! especially the fact that the guest of honor LOVES halloween! of course i wouldn't do cheesy decorations, but you certainly have so much to work with. you could look up some martha stewart halloween decorating, or something similar.
gords or baby pumpkins with votive candles, scented like cinnamon, apple or pumpkin.
candy corns instead of mints for the "candy" favors.
go the opposite direction with the decorating and do a sleek and stylish orange/black or orange/brown color theme.
definately use peeps in your decorating, did this for an easter themed shower this year. check on line for ideas, they're beautiful in glass vases!!!
orange merkins wafers(chocolate) covered ANYTHING!!!! pretzles, peeps, fruit, marshmallows
cider punch or an orange/pinapple punch
and whatever you do, DON'T forget the dry ice. you can find some that is safe to put into the punch, or just set some in carved out pumpkins!!!!
I could do this for days!!!!! Have FUN!!!
oh gosh, i just re-read your original post and realized you only wanted favor ideas.....
sorry i went a little overboard. i always wanted to be a party planner when i grew up
