Co-sleeping with a uh... stinky daddy? :/

LOL, I know.. BUT SERIOUSLY!

Let's just say I've gotten used to my SO's particular nocturnal blasts of not-so-pleasant air. We keep a few windows cracked open [year-round], and it's something I do tease him about, but I know he's a bit sensitive about it, too.. so I don't bring it up too often.

Tackling the issue of his gas is another monster in itself. [We eat the same food, why does it do this to him!? I know he's allergic to eggs, but maybe there's something else?]

Anyway.. I'm afraid for the baby! hahaha It's not some death stench every night, but sometimes.. oh, my! And in recent months [with my "super smell" sense] I'd wake up because he's so stinky and I get SO angry at him for waking me up. haha :( Sorry, honey. I feel bad now.. but I was cranky and tired and DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT!

..anywho

thoughts?!?!?! :/

  • I think he needs to see a doctor. That sounds miserable, actually.

  • He saw one a few years ago, who told him he was just allergic to eggs and to not eat them. [Which he doesn't anymore.] And now he's too embarrassed to go back in for this. Poor guy :(

  • My DH is also allergic to eggs, with similar... results, so I know how not pleasant it can be.  It could be that even if your DH doesn't have scrambled eggs, for example, that his allergy has gotten more sensitive to where he can't eat foods that contain a decent amount of eggs.  Like my DH is good with most foods that contain eggs, like cakes or something, but he will be affected if he has french toast or chicken francaise or an egg-heavy type of cake like poundcake.
  • Oh and awesome due date!  I was due 1/1/10, but didn't deliver until 1/8.
  • Thanks for the tip! I wonder what would make him more sensitive to an allergy? Hmn..

haha Yeah! I know baby will come when he's ready, but really, that'd be such a neat birthday! I just hope he doesn't decide to come early because our insurance only covers him for the month he is born in.

I would double check with the insurance company on this.  I'm an actuary for a health insurance company, and our policy (which I believe is a regulatory standard) is to cover baby under mother's policy for the first 30 days of the child's life, regardless of when during the month the baby is born.  That would be true even if the baby wasn't ever added to mama's policy.

  • And as someone with a life threatening allergy that developed only a few years ago, I have learned that increased sensitivity can happen randomly, or it can just be the result of cumulative exposure, like if DH continued to eat things that contain small amounts of egg as I mentioned.

    Good luck!
