Losing weight............

Anyone else with me? How much do you want to lose? What is your time frame? Any helpful tips?

I am trying to lose 15lbs in 6 weeks before we officially start TTC. That sounds like a lot, but I think I can do it. I have been going to the gym 4 days a week and trying to eat better, but that is the hardest part for me.

  • I am, but I have a lot more to lose than you.  I started the Atkin's diet and lost 12 pounds in the first 3 weeks.  I haven't lost anymore since then, but I have kept it off!  GL to you!

    We plan to try in January.

    So my time frame is about 16 weeks with a goal of 30 pounds.

    I always excel when I add salads/veggies to every meal. I've been experimenting with Zucchini "fries" ,  Eggplant bake ( eggplant with tomatoes), Mashed Cauliflower. It really helps fill you up!

  • Right there with ya! 15-20 for me! I'd like to drop at least 10 in five weeks I'm in a wedding. I think that's do-able. Smile I started doing some simple exercises at home before I get in the shower, and then doing cardio at the gym after work. I'm shooting for 5 days a week, but I just started, so we'll see if I can actually pull it off. Food-wise, I'm just being more disciplined about not eating unless I'm hungry, not just because it's "time" to eat. And only eating till I'm satisfied, not till I'm full. Smile

    Hmm, zucchini fries sound awesome, do you just bake them?

  • I'm trying!  And I have a LOT to lose.  lol.

    I've been trying to eat better and more often.  I tend to make poor choices, and space out my eating so I end up wanting large portions.  :/

    I've been following the 5 Factor Fitness exercise plan for 3 weeks now.  I was also working out on my wii fit but I don't think it was as intense as I'd like it.  I am going to begin adding Tae Bo in addition to doing 5 Factor.  Before I got married I lost over 30 pounds doing Tae Bo.

    I get discouraged when I weigh myself so I've set myself some goal measurements.  And I am going to try to only measure myself once a month.

  • I am trying to lose 10 lbs. which I have been saying for 9 months now I would lose before getting KU. I am FINALLY on my way! I rejoined WW online and I am actually sticking to it this time around. DH is finally wanting to lose some weight also so hopefully that will help. GL ladies = )

  • I'd like to lose another 25-30 before the end of the year and then create a new goal for next year. Ive hit a major speed bump since last month and Im really trying to get back on track...it's just been difficult to step back into that gym!!

  • I cut back on wine and dessert and lost 8 lbs without really trying.  I have a bad sweet tooth, so sometimes I'll just have a small square of dark chocolate instead of a huge bowl of ice cream and it's still pretty satisfying.  Good luck!

  • Im trying to lose weight too.... Ive gained so much over the past few years and in the spirit of ttgp Ive decided to change my eating habits and hopefully will find myself back in the gym sometime soon.  I figure one step at a time right.  So far 5.4 pounds down in the past 2 weeks.  Joined WW online 2 weeks ago and Im pretty happy with it, mostly because there is a free ap for the iphone so no matter where I am I can see how many points I have left and how many points all the food is.  Came in handy when I was visiting a friend last weekend!

  • Yes, I'm about 2 pounds from my goal weight for a total loss of 15 pounds.  At this point I'd like to tone up and start eating healthier (more veggies, more fiber, more lean protein).

    These sound really good and would definitely help me up my vegetable intake.  

  • I want to lose about 15 lbs. and just be more lean all around. I don't have a deadline set, but it would be nice to get it off before I get pregnant. We do have a cruise planned at the end of November and it would be nice to wear a bikini. We'll see Wink

  • I am 5'3" and was 145 I started eating healthy and really focusing on my working out taking Yoga, Pilates, and cycle and if not a class 45 min on elliptical, and I am now down to 120; took me about 6 weeks.
